Jimmy John's: Beyond "Gourmet Sandwhiches"

My roommate had always loved Jimmy John's, but I had only had it once before coming to UK. For my roommate and I this became a place where we could go grab a late night snack. Also the times we have gone by ourselves have been some of the greatest times ever spent here in Lexington. We always leave with a smile and a story to tell.
A couple of hours ago my roommate kept nagging that she was hungry, but she was watching her show that didn't end until 11 p.m. She asked me if I wanted to join her, I said, "Sure," after all I was craving a tuna sandwich. We live on north campus, which means we live a few steps toward the place we obey our mothers.
We ordered our food and sat at the table right by the door. My roommate was facing the window that looks out to the street, and all of the sudden she freaked out and let out a squeak. She scared me like she usually does when she makes those sorts of noises. Then as she quiet down, two large and one less large figure emerged entering the franchise.
Who was it? Doron Lamb, DeAndre Liggins, and Richard. The first two names if you don't know are two basketball players. While Ryanne was freaking out, the three guys were ordering their food and I innocently kept looking at them because she kept talking about them. She said, "I wish I could tell them good job last night," but she was too starstruck. Her giggles and my eyes that lingered toward them led Doron to come and talk to us.
"What is your name?" Doron Lamb asked me, of course I had just taken an enormous bite of my sandwich, so I began to laugh. I was laughing not because I was nervous, but because I had a mouth full of tuna. I was signaling my roommate to tell him what my name was, finally she did.
"Her name is Laura," my roommate said with cheeks that had a slight blush to them.
"Well Laura, my friend over there thinks you're cute, do you have a boyfriend?" Doron asked.
"Yes," I said. In front of me was my roommate with eyes that glittered with actual stars staring at Doron.
The conversation went on. Doron and Richard kept asking questions. DeAndre stood tall and silent with a smirk on his face. I got asked if I was Hispanic and got complimented about that, they also asked me if my boyfriend was white, which he is, they said that they knew that, and if my boyfriend went to school here. They also talked to my roommate and asked her if she had a boyfriend.
The basketball players have game outside the court. They eventually exited the building, and my roommate was "AH," as in she was giddy like a little kid is when they find out they are going to Disney World. The guys took a look back at us and noticed her euphoria and laughed at her, not in a mean way because they were polite guys.
The interaction ended when they were no longer in sight, but my roommate's enchantment will not cease until she spends another night having a conversation with any of the UK Basketball players. You see my roommate has been in love with UK Basketball ever since she got out of her mother's womb wearing a Cats blanket, but she fell in love with the almost all players as soon as she realized boys don't have cooties. In our choir class from high school, she got the award senior year for "Most Likely to Marry a UK Basketball Player." Oh dear.
Tonight was the night to be at Jimmy John's to enjoy a sandwich and watch my roommate's reaction to two basketball players and a Richard.
